Stephen Henderson the jeweller understands that your watch is valuable to you, and we are here to give  precious timepieces the love it deserves. We offer a range of watch maintenance services to keep your treasured timepiece ticking long whilst looking its best.

Our watch services include everything from watch battery replacement and watch links removal, to professional watch refurbishments, watch servicing and watch repairs. Our team are highly experienced in conducting first class services and can replace watch batteries, and remove and replace watch links and straps while you wait.

Watch Battery Replacement

We will replace batteries in most quartz watches, using only the highest quality swiss lithium batteries, whilst guaranteeing your battery life for 3 years. Not only that, we can replace most watch batteries while you wait.

Watch Refurbishment

Stephen Henderson the Jeweller has over 80 years of experience so you can rest assured that your treasured time piece is in the safest  hands.

Over time, metal watches show signs of wear and look dull and dirty. Our team offers a quick watch refurbishment service that includes a buff and polish of the watch case and bracelet followed by a deep ultrasonic clean, to restore the original shine.

Over time, damage or general wear and tear can lead to your watch bracelet requiring a refurbishment or maybe it has become damaged and in need of repair.

Our experienced team is happy to take a look at your watch and offer a fast watch refurbishment service, or alternatively, send your watch to our specialist workshop for any required repairs. 

Watch Link Adjustments 

Stephen Henderson the Jeweller offer bracelet link adjustment service while you wait. Our team will assess the current fit of the watch to determine what adjustments are needed. By modifying the length of the bracelet we’ll help you find the perfect fit for your wrist to ensure a comfortable fit. 

Replacement Watch Straps

We offer a professional watch strap replacement service while you wait. We have a selection of watch straps in store that will compliment your watch. Available in traditional and modern styles, colours, materials and finishes, we are sure to have the right option for you. Looking for something different? Watch Pressure Testing

If your wristwatch is water resistant, it is highly suggested that it be pressure tested.

This will help detect whether your timepieces need to be resealed due to the rubber gaskets deteriorating over time.

We offer a same day watch pressure testing service using the latest technology to ensure the device is water resistant. 

Watch Repairs

We only use accredited horologists workshops with highly skilled, experienced watchmakers who are members of the BHI (British Horological Institute). This guarantees  that every repair receives meticulous attention to detail ,ensuring your watch receives the best possible service.

The watch repairers will repair most faulty and broken watches, and can perform a range of services They pride themselves on excellent workmanship and only use high grade components for mechanical and quartz models 

Stephen Henderosn the Jeweller can offer high-quality watch repairs on brands such as Omega, Rolex, Cartier, Longines, Tissot, Breitling, TAG, Ebel, Seiko and many more.

Our watchmakers will replace worn out internal components for both quartz and mechanical watches, such as, replacement gasket seals, watch glass, crown, dials, stems, damaged watch hands and batons, worn bracelets  and much more.

Our watch repair service cost depends on the make of watch, and exact service needed. However, we will provide an estimate for the cost of the work and advise whether a repair is deemed worthwhile.

If you decide not to proceed with the repair work after the estimate is given, there will be no charge and your watch will be returned to the store.

Repair times vary, but we’ll always return your fixed watch as quickly as we can. However, watch repair times vary and will take between 3-12 weeks depending on what work is required, with watch servicing taking 3 months on average to complete.

Watch Servicing

Stephen Henderson the Jeweller provides a professional watch service using state of the art equipment to ensure your precious timepieces receive the best possible care.

To make sure both quartz and mechanical watches are kept in excellent condition, it is advised that watch servicing is conducted on a frequent basis to prevent future watch failure, which can result in a pricey watch repair.

Regular wristwatch servicing ensures timekeeping is correct, and allows for replacement of worn or damaged parts.

Our specialist workshops offer comprehensive watch servicing so you can rest assured that work is carried out to the highest of standard in order to ensure an effective and long lasting watch repair.


Firstly, your wristwatch will be checked for any faults or damaged parts. Using specialist tools and methods during each inspection, we ensure all watches are restored the highest of standards. 

We will test your watch for faults or damage before carefully disassembling and fully stripping down your watch and cleaning every component will be cleaned. The watch is then reassembled, lubricated and sealed for water resistance if required.

We will professionally fit and reassemble any damaged component on your watch subject to availability of parts. Once the timing of your wristwatch has been regulated using professional equipment we will re-assemble and re-seal your precious wristwatch before monitoring that the timekeeping is accurate and the power reserves and functions are in full working order.

Watch repairs come with a 2 years guarantee, giving additional confidence that the repair has been carried out to an excellent standard.

Commission Sales

Stephen Henderson the jeweller has over 80 years experience in pre-owned watches and can help you get the best exposure and price for your treasures timepieces.  For a small fee we will refurbish your watch and provide a valuation before coming to an agreement  on the selling price. 

Once we have agreed on a price we will use our specialist watch auction website to advertise your watch to potential customers.
